The CB Team share their top tips for beginners!
It’s January and we are all ready to kick-start our health and fitness routine and enter the new year feeling fit, healthy and strong.
Whether you are completely brand new to fitness, or a complete pro repping another famous CB 28 Day Challenge , we all know that building new habits and creating a new routine after some time out can be really tough. Who better to ask than the experts themselves!
We asked the CB team their tops tips on starting and maintaining a new routine when you are a
complete beginner.
1. The first step is always the hardest.
Just START... it sounds so simple and that is because it really is. So often we over – complicate our health and fitness and wait for the perfect time to begin, but that time is right now! Your first session WILL be difficult, and you might find it tough for a little while, but if you keep at it you will
succeed. Back yourself, lace up your shoes and give it a go!
2. Find a workout you enjoy
The easiest way to throw a habit away is to force yourself to do something you do not love. Eventually you will begin to resent exercise and not experience all the incredible benefits it can bring. The Courtney Black App has hundreds of workouts to choose from. From HIIT, to strength, to
boxing and yoga, we really have it all. Switch it up, try a few different trainers and find what works for you. Remember you journey is just that, yours! Your far more likely to be consistent if you actually look forward to moving your body!
3. Keep showing up
It’s something we always tell our community but something that never gets old... Consistency is KEY. You will not always feel like it, some days it will be hard and life can get busy. But if you stick with it, even if it means somedays you can only fit in 10 – 15 minutes, you really will be rewarded! Being consistent will help you create your workouts as a non negotiable habit, something that you factor in to everyday without even giving it a second thought.
4. Focus on YOU
Comparing your chapter 1 with someone else’s chapter 10 is not helpful to you and your personal journey. Set your own goals, find YOUR why and show up for you. It is so important when you reach your goals to stop and look at what you have done. Once you have reached the so called ‘mountain top’ I.e. your desired goal, think about how you can challenge yourself further in a different way. It might be to do more press ups or improve your fitness. But at the same time always remember to take time to be proud of yourself and enjoy the present!
Remember, everyone was once a beginner. Your fitness journey can feel intimidating when you first start out, but remember to keep things simple. Break it down and do not over complicate it. You are doing this for a happier, healthier, you... when you remember WHY you started and what you are working towards, everything will fall into place.
